Volleyball Scholarships
Simone Reid, who is now playing for TCA 18-1, has become the first player from the 2009 Boom 17-1 and 2008 Boom 16-1 to sign a National Letter of Intent to play volleyball at college in the fall of 2010. Simone will be receiving a full scholarship to Loyola University Maryland and play volleyball in the MAAC. Congratulations Simone! This is outstanding news. Aneisha Christie, a member of the 2008 Boom 16-1 who continued her club volleyball playing for 2010 A5 18-2 and the 2009 A5 17-2 has commited to continue her volleyball career at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga in the Southern Conference. Great job Aneisha the supporters of the 2009 17 Diamond wish you tremendous future success!
Chanelle Smith, who most recently in 2010 played for the TCA 17-1, has made a verbal commitment to continue her volleyball career at Elon University. Chanelle played for the 2009 Boom 17-1, 2008 Boom 16-1 and the 2007 Boom 14-1. Chanelle is a member of the class of 2011 and she is looking forward to playing volleyball in the Southern Conference. Colleges
Jenn Crotty, a member of the 2009 Boom 17-1 and 2008 Boom 16-1, has been accepted and will be attending college at the University of Georgia (Academics) in the fall 2010. Jenn plans to go into nursing. Congratulations Jenn, the supporters of the 2009 17 Diamond wish you tremendous future success!
Courtney Weider, a member of the 2008 Boom 17-1 & 16-1, 2007 Boom 16-1, who went on to play on the 2009 Georgia Juniors 17-1 and 2010 NFC 18-1, has been accepted and will be attending college at Georgia Southern Univeristy (Academics) in the fall of 2010. Courtney plans to study education at GSU. Congratulations Courtney, the supporters of the 2009 17 Diamond wish you tremendous future success!

SRVA Regionals - Atlanta, GA.
The Atlanta Boom 17 Diamond fights in “Boom Fashion” all the way to the end. Showing marked improvement along the entire club season trail. Posting victories against Pro-link and Columbus Juniors, and a slight short fall to KVC.
Big South Qualifier - Atlanta, GA.
What a weekend for the 17 Diamond... 9th place, TOP 10..... all equals a GREAT JOB for the 17D!
17 Diamond on the DIG Pink tour trail... First Denver… then THE BIG SOUTH
Colorado Crossroads Qualifier - Denver, CO.
The 17D competed and peformed very well against some of the best volleyball teams in the country....
3 Days of exciting volleyball is what the 17D delivered to all of their friends, family, fans and spectators… Finishing Day 1 in the gold, earning a challenge match for gold in day two and competing in the silver on day 3.
The 17D, finishing 21st out of 106 teams left their mark in Denver and prepare to face more fierce volleyball competition at home at THE BIG SOUTH QUALIFIER..

Peachtree Classic - Atlanta, GA.
The last 2 tournaments for the 17Diamond were played at (2) well known Universities..... Clemson - March 7th & 8th and Emory University - March 14th & 15th. The ladies of the 17 Diamond are proven fighters; but still finding it tough to seal the deal in the semi-finals.
Next stop on the tournament trail is DENVER Crossroads qualifier....

Atlanta Boom 17Diamond has settled into to the top 10, but is rigorously preparing to break the string of 3's; after meeting KVC in the semi-finals while in Chattanooga this past weekend.

Valentine's Day Bash - Birmingham, AL.
The 17 Diamond bounced back with a strong showing at the 12th annual Valentine's Day Bash. The team made it to the Semi Finals of the Gold Bracket and a 3rd place finish overall against strong competition. 17D was one of only two teams in the 20 team field to go undefeated in the first day of pool play.

Knoxville Power - Knoxville, TN.
In sports, like life, sometimes you just have one of those days. The 17D met some stiff competition in Knoxville, TN. The team, fought hard to create momentum this weekend, facing teams from Georgia and Tennessee. The team made adjustments throughout the day and rallied to victory beating Williamson County Select.

Southern Draw Tournament - Suwanee, GA
The 17 Diamond are off to a strong start. We faced stiff competition at this weekend's January 17th-19th "Southern Draw Tournament" and came away with a 3rd place finish in our opening tournament of the season.
